Rainy City, oops I mean Ocean City

We arrived in Ocean City on Sunday afternoon and it rained the whole way in. We checked into a beautiful room with a view of the ocean that in my opinion may as well be considered ocean front. The pic on the right is the view from our balcony.

On Monday we woke up to rain, but then the sun decided to shine for just a bit so we went for a nature cruise to Assateague on the Discovery. It was about a 1 1/2 hour boat ride over to the island and told a little about the history of how OC and Assateague became 2 separate entities. They used to be connected until the big storm of 1933. Mom seemed to enjoy it. She was very impressed with our 15 year old tour guide and Kassidy found him cute as well.

Tuesday brought more rain. I must admit we have been eating well. The first night Wayne made Russian King Crab legs, we then had bacon, eggs, and homefries for breakfast. It was Pork Chops for dinner on Monday, pancakes and sausage for breakfast on Tuesday. All cooked on the Coleman camp stove I got Wayne for his birthday.

Wayne and Kassidy and I decided to get a Surrey and have our annual bike ride. Well, not too smart. We ventured out and it was just spitting rain, but during our ride we got absolutely drenched in a downpour that did not stop for 40 minutes. This was Tuesday.

Well, here it is Wednesday morning, more rain. We have not even been on the beach yet. That accuweather sure is not accurate. First it tells us we will have sun, then it rains. Then again they say sun and it rains again. I don't know, mom's not very happy. I'm pretty upset with the weather myself. The one thing we are looking forward to is Phillips tonight. Their seafood buffet is to die for. A bit pricey, but worth it if you ask me.
In the afternoon the rain had stopped, but it was a bit cloudy. We headed off to Assateague Island to see the ponies. We went up to the beach, but alas, no ponies this year. We were able to get some pics of a couple on the side of the road. Kassidy took this picture. She is thinking of becoming a photographer. More about our trip tomorrow.
